Don't stop doing your laundry

We, here at The Crossroads Real Estate Group, are committed to serving our clients at every possible level. It’s not just about selling houses. It’s about building relationships and being a resource to our clients, their family and friends – FOR LIFE!

We want to share with you the following FACTS:

  1. The volatility of the markets has some systems overloaded causing rumors to fly around without restraint. This is a fact.

  2. Our team is still working, homes are still selling, interest rates are still great, and there has never been a better time to be in the market whether you are selling or buying.

We also take the situation seriously. We have put the following into practice:

  1. We carry hand sanitizer – and we will share!

  2. Hand washing is a huge priority – not that it wasn’t before, but we hadn’t ever had an opportunity to brag about it before! (Right Kristin?)

  3. We are practicing social distancing – we won’t shake hands or bump elbows. We will be doing our best to stay 3 feet from others. (For Suzie this isn’t an issue!) We will not be holding open houses and we are working to avoid crowds.

  4. We will preview homes for buyer clients who don’t feel they want to get out to just look. We can facetime or do a walk through video. We have some amazing technology. Let’s put it to work.

  5. We haven’t gotten any declined showings – YET. There may be sellers who hold off showings for a little while, or remove their listings from the market temporarily, and we respect that. The more people who do that the better it is for sellers who don’t.

  6. We are set up to work from home or in small groups. Most of us do this already. Luckily most activities that go into purchasing a home or selling a home don’t require us to work in an “office” environment.

  7. If any one of us starts to feel sick, we will immediately inform anyone that we have been in contact with and appointments will be rescheduled. If you are feeling sick, please do the same.

Finally, we want you to know that we are all in this together. If you need something, we will do our best to help. If your neighbor needs something, please let us know how we might help. We are concerned about those in the at risk groups. If we can pick up a grocery order, help with getting meals to children, etc, please let us know.

If you are concerned about making your mortgage payment if this crisis goes more than a couple of weeks or gets worse, FHA, Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac are reaching out to mortgage servicers to remind them that forbearance is an option. Forbearance means that payments missed can be tacked on to the end of your loan term. The key is to reach out to your servicer sooner rather than later.

Our friends at Wish Wash have offered the following advice for doing laundry:

Here are some guidelines, most importantly- KEEP DOING LAUNDRY!

🟢 And if you normally use a laundromat and are trying to practice social distancing, or would prefer to leave it to the experts, schedule your laundry pickup with us online.

🔴 Do not shake dirty laundry. This minimizes the possibility of dispersing the virus through the air. 🔴 Wash items in accordance with the directions. If possible, launder items using the warmest appropriate water setting for the items, and dry items completely. 🔴 Please note that dirty laundry that has been in contact with an infected person can safely be washed with other people’s items.

🔴 The hotter the wash, the better. Experts recommend washing items in a temperature of at least 140 degrees. 🔴 Use the dryer. Viruses hate heat, and drying clothes will further prevent the spread of the disease. 🔴 Use the right amount of soap. Too much soap creates excess suds that enable dirt and grime to remain trapped inside the fabric. The right amount of soap will properly clean and then be rinsed from the clothing. 🔴 Clean and disinfect clothes baskets, carts and hampers. Clean these items as often as possible and use a bag liner, if available. 🔹 Sources: Coin Laundry Association, Centers for Disease Control, Industry sources
